Frame Names??

OLSEN BIKES have 2 frames and we are now have BIKES instock from £1699…

But what is the is the difference?

At OLSEN HQ I started naming my frames based on places that best suited the type of riding.  The Mokihinui and Karapoti are in New Zealand.  Ardnamurchan is in Scotland.  Hovsgol is in Mongolia.

Karapoti NX

The Karapoti NX is ideal for fast light race or long distance bikepacking journeys. The Karapoti is a versatile XC inspired 29er frame that can be run with flat or drop bars.  75mm tyre clearance will easily run 29x2.2” tyres making it ideal for fast XC MTB riding.  It has full rack points and can be laden down for longer bikepacking distances. The Karapoti is at home with rigid forks or 100mm suspension forks.

The Karapoti means “around it” in Maori and is an area nestled in the hills of Wellington NZ. The Karapoti definately goes around it.  The KARAPOTI Classic was my first experience at a “proper” MTB race.  The Karapoti Classic is New Zealand's longest-running annual mountain bike event, started in 1986.

The Mokihinui was designed to fit 2 wheels sizes to have 2 personalities. The do it all bike. With 29x2.4” it will ride fast and far.  With 27.5x3.0” tyres it will keep the traction over demanding terrain and distances.  The Low top tube allows you to throw your bike around the local trails.  With a slacker head angle than the Karapoti it will run up to a 130mm suspension fork.

The Mokihinui means“large flax raft” in Maori and is the river that cuts through the OLD GHOST Road, a long-forgotten gold miners' road in NZ’s West Coast, which is now excellent for riding.
